Azmain Iqtidar from Class 11-12 Group; in Science & Computer Subject Thanik Nur Samin from Class 6-8 Group, Vuban Dey from Class 9-10 Group, Azad Anduman Islam from Class 11-12 Group and in Bangladesh Studies Subject Afia Anzum Jaman Zeba from Class 6-8 Group, Mosarrat Mehjabin from Class 9-10 Group, A. Bachit Molla from Class 11-12 Group. The Creative Talent Hunt Competition-2013 launched for the first time across the country in March. The nationwide grand competition has been initiated to encourage the next generation of creative education and to recognize the extraordinary students across the country, especially the deprived remote students. It may be mentioned that through the competition, the ministry will award 12 best students with certificates of honour and money cheques, each worth Tk 0.1 million from the three groups nationally. Besides, the Upazila, district and division level winners will receive prize and certificate. The grand talent hunt competition was held on March 11-13 in Upazila level, March 16-18 in district level and March 29-30 in division level. There were a total of 50 marks for every subject. The mark distribution was - 'Language and Literature' 10 marks in essay competition, 10 marks in English writings, 10 in storytelling, and extempore speech in English 20. Two-day long the Creative Talent Hunt Competition-2013 launched for the first time across the country has ended in the district on Friday. A concluding ceremony organized by district education office was held at the hall room of Gaibandha Government Boys' High School here in the afternoon. Deputy Commissioner Dr Quazi Anwarul Haque addressed the function as the chief guest while Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Abu Bakar Siddique presided over the ceremony. The function was also addressed, among others, by district education officer Azahar Ali, head teacher of the school Sahana Banu and students Fatema Yasmin and Ahmed Ahsan Habib. Speaking on the occasion, DC Dr Haque said the government had taken the initiative to hunt and search meritorious students from grassroots to national levels for flourishing their creative talent to make themselves as worthy citizens of the country. DEO Azahar Ali in his speech said the competition was held in three groups on four subjects-Language and Literature, Science, Mathematics, Computer and Bangladesh Studies. A total of 12 winners have been selected out of 84 competitors coming from seven upazilas of the district and they will participate in the divisional level competition on March 23 and 24, he also said. Later, the winners were given prizes for their better performance in the competition.
